| Dinky is a sweet-hearted pony that loves food and people. He does not need much socialization with other horses. We keep him in a stall, round pen, and tie him out to eat grass because that is what he likes to do. He was bought for the farm to be a beginner lesson horse but that is not his road in life. He is most definitely a one person horse. He needs lots of love. We saddle broke him about 6 months ago and as of today he was cantered around our field, on the road, over a log and to the out door ring...did a couple cavalettis and cross rails and Dinky got his lead every time and is learning
all the basics again...like how to lounge to being body clipped. We use natural horsemanship techniques but this pony would be a prime candidate for the "clicker training" Dinky really needs a confident leader because he seems to second guess himself. His previous training (carriage and plow) left him with tie down white-haired scars and a lack of trust but a serious rider has no limits with this pony. Dinky is ONLY for sale to the right person. |
