Max Hopfner dressage saddle, black leather, 17 inch seat, wide tree, regular length flap, long billets. This lightly used saddle was purchased new in 2012. It is built very similarly to the old Ahlerich model which seats the rider in a correct and very effective position. The leather is top quality which assures the saddle will be around for years (my previous Hopfner saddle lasted 20 plus years with almost daily use). It has wool stuffed panels, Federbaum tree, moderate padded knee rolls, knee blocks and ample clearance over the withers and through the gullet. It is in excellent condition with only slight rub marks from the stirrup leathers/boots. One billet is slightly scarred from being lightly chewed by a naughty young horse. This saddle fits a variety of horses well (mine range from 15.3-16.3). I am selling the saddle because back problems (mine, not caused by the saddle!) have forced me to adopt a different riding style.
