This is an oldie but goodie! This is a hand made H.R. Miller Trail saddle with all original accessories.15" seat. I have cleaned and oiled it. I had really hoped it would fit my quarter horse but he has such broad shoulders that he really needs full quarter horse bars. This is a well made saddle. It has semi-quarter horse bars. The seat position is so comfortable! There is a twist to the fenders to make the stirrups more comfortable on the knees. The stirrups are made from soaked oak ( I believe that is the wood) and then surrounded by metal to keep the shape. The cinch is made from mohair with brass fittings. I was told by a saddle expert that you do not see this anymore. It is too expensive. She also said that the mohair cinches are what cowboys use! But you could use a different one if you wanted to. The fleece is in good condition. It is a little flatted with use but I have gently brushed it to bring it back around. I do not see any missing areas of fleece. I wish, I wish this fit my horse!! This is what horsetackreview.com has to say about Miller saddles:
Henry Miller Saddlery
Manufacturer: Henry Miller Saddlery
Model: All saddles
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: I purchased my Eli Miller saddle on (gulp) Ebay. I paid nearly full price for what this same saddle costs now, a bit under $900.
Likes: First of all the weight: it's under 25 lbs. All leather, pared-down. The seat is "suspended" so you don't sit on the tree, but in a suspended "hammock" type of seat. Wood tree. Beautiful leather, craftsmanship, no break in. Endurance EZ ride stirrups and the suspended seat made all my aches, numb toes, back soreness, knee pain go away. I can ride for hours on end with absolutely NO soreness. Consistent tooling, stitching, color from saddle to tack. There are lots of tree options. I like working with the Millers' because they will build with multiple options at very little cost. Very reasonably priced.
Dislikes: Not much I don't like about these saddles.
Quality: No break-in for leather, attention to detail, edges, tooling, balance. The leather is buttery. Love the center-fire rigging, it's very secure. Love how you can build your saddle with any/all the options. Stitching is impeccable, consistent in color from saddle to matching tack. My Buena Vista was built in 2002 and it it ridden in five days a week, it keeps getting better and better.
Summary: Incredible saddle for the money!
