Chrome is mannerly, sweet, with no meanness to him. Owned since Aug. 2014. He is 4 years old. No rare, buck, kick, or bite. Low in the pecking order. He is 60 1/4 inches tall or just a smidge over 15 Hands.
He Stands very calmly:
-To be saddled
-To be mounted
-To take a bath
-To be clipped
-For a farrier
-Rides saddled or bareback
-Rides well with shank bit, or ring snaffle bit
-Trailer loads VERY easily
He is brave on a trail, he will walk over tarps, ditches, and water. Rode hin up to a bolder and he put his feet up on it the first time I asked. Rode up on 2 deer the other day out alone and he just looked at them, no spooking or shying. Rode up on a momma.cow and calf on the other side of a fence and that didnt scare him either. Has a wonderfully smooth 4 beat flat walk and running walk. He does not dog walk easily, prefers to pick up in the show gaits as he has been taught before I owned him. Never cantered before I got him, but I have cantered him and he has a lovely canter, just needs to learn to collect and slow it a bit. Sometimes hard to catch without a bucket. Only negative point is that he is a little shy of people, especially people with ropes that look like a whip. He is very friendly once he realizes you aren't going to eat him and enjoys being pet on. Needs an Experienced rider, he is young and very sensitive to cues with a big motor and lots of go. Has great stamina even being fairly out of shape.
Developed a stifle problem summer of 2015 called upward fixation of the patella. Had a minor procedure done on the tendon to correct that problem. He is slightly out of condition from his long break to recover and due to limited riding this winter. Passed his vet exam on April 5 sound and ready to ride and work. He needs a refresher, will be ridden and worked until sold. This horse is going to be a great trail horse, I think he would go anywhere you point him. Havnt had a chance personally to try him on some really tough trails, but he has never hesistated at anything I've asked him to cross.
Trade: 15H or taller Gaited horse. Must be able to pack large men and kid husband safe. Prefer a slow poke that will walk along on a loose reign with lots of trail experience. Under 10 years old. Easy to catch.
Bonus Points for pretty colors, papers, and neck reigning.
