Giron is a 17+ hand thoroughbred gelding, 9 years old and what a class act! It’s no surprise as his breeding lends to his classy disposition, that he has been successful in life so far. Most horses don’t race til the ripe old age of 9 but Giron has been well cared for by an adoring owner and has just 27 starts under his belt with 9 wins and over a $100k in earnings. Giron has had just one issue in his racing career and that was a bowed tendon as a 3 year old which he rebowed in 2012. Although it has healed up perfectly and he could return to the races, his owner feels that it is time for him to move on to a new life. He has so much potential being such a big, athletic horse. Please note that the old bow does have a pretty good profile to it, a cosmetic blemish.
As we stood there talking about Giron (and he so knew we were talking about him as he hammed it up!), his owner asked a passerby for a leg up onto her bareback boy. She continued to chat away about him as she lay draped over his neck scratching him lovingly…He really is a gentle giant! That being said, Giron is a strong horse and will need an experienced rider who can teach him new things. He is a gorgeous mover with a huge stride! He has no vices, is happy stalled, turned out alone or with friends. A super smart and easy going guy, an easy keeper with no health issues. Giron is a KY bred by Elusive Quality.
Giron is available for a $300 donation to TPR by an excellent and approved home.
