Big Country got his name because he is big and because he can handle a lot of big country. He has been ridden by women, men, teenagers, and our seven year old granddaughter, He is level headed, dependable, kind, patient and quiet. We have used him last fall and winter on our ranch to gather and wean cow/calf pairs, sort and pen bulls, and he has been pasture roped on a few times. Big Country has seen a lot of rough terrain, brush, water crossings and handles it all with ease and confidence. He has been our go to horse on our ranch last fall and never let us down. He has a lot of heart and bottom. He has been in training since last fall and will side pass, two track, neck rein, is soft in the face and has a big stop. He also has a pretty extended trot and looks good under english tack. Our seven year old granddaughter uses him for her riding lessons. Easy to catch, he will meet you at the gate. Ponies off the side of the pickup, loads and hauls easily. No soundness or health issues and no bad habits. He is straight legged with a good, big foot. Big Country has a lot of potential as a rope horse and would make a nice barrel prospect also. With his quiet and dependable nature we think he would be a great family/4-H horse, or a super partner on the trails.
