We are selling our registered American Shetland Pony Club (ASPC/AMHA) # 154299A, Mare. She was born May 2005, is black and white and is 40� tall. I was told her breeders briefly showed her and then she was cart trained. The previous owners mainly lead her little kids around on. We purchased her October 2007 for my sons to learn how to ride on. I was hoping by starting them off young they would develop the love and passion for horses that I’ve always had but they never have. They ride maybe 5-10 minutes every other month.

“Cricket� as we caller her is a great mare, very friendly and not at all the aggressive nasty little pony that most of us grew up on. She is very soft mouthed and responds to both direct and indirect rein pressure and is responsive to leg and verbal cues. I would say that off line she would need at least a confident beginner/intermediate rider in that she is young and does have energy and a lot of speed. She’s not nasty but will test her riders’ ability. On line she is a champ I usually walk behind her on a long lead rope while my boys are walking an obstacle course or lung her through a barrel pattern. I have ponied her everywhere you could think in the mountains, through water, over bridges, deep sand and heavily weeded areas with my boys riding double or solo and no problems.
A good friend of our used her for a 6 month time period to give her grandson confidence to ride and she was great. They said a neighbor kid use to come out and help work their cattle off her with no problem.
Cricket is gorgeous with a beautifully refined head nice lines and straight clean legs. Her coat shins all year round and her main and tail never seem to stop growing. I trim/thin them regularly to maintain the current length. Cricket has never been sick since we have had her. Is a very easy keeper, ½ flake of Bermuda hay in the morning and night and a hand full of complete feed at night.
She baths, clips, easy to load in a large or small trailer and backs out no matter the length. Ties without fuss, loves to be groomed and pampered. She even lets my 5 year old pick up and clean all 4 feet. Very easy to trim, feet are great even in the rocky mounts.
Cricket is used to being turned out with other horses. And prefers large turn outs or pasture with friend to being stalled, she does intermittently pace when stalled.

As you can see we love this pony and will only sell her to the right home and family. She is looking for a young horse lover that is ready to hit the trails and too have fun in the arena. Please let me know if you are interested.
