Gotta Lotta Drift is a 2012 bay stud colt by Bambies Little Drift and out of Three Times Wood by Double Driftwood. This colt is bred to be your next roping, western showing or versatility champion. He should mature around 15 hands.
Gotta Lotta Drift traces to Driftwood four times, giving him just under 10% Driftwood blood. He also traces to Lucky Blanton on his mother's side, a stallion who sired more top rope horses than any other Quarter Horse living while he was standing at stud. Wilywood, Cinderwood Miss, Blanton Wood and Snippys Cowboy with two shots of Doc Bar!
The top side of his pedigree is the same one you will see on several of the Riding Rain Ranch horses - Bambies Little Drift by Tally Man and out of Bambi Doc Mose by Little Doc Mose. This stallion passes on his gentle disposition and high quality conformation to his offspring, and this colt is no exception. His top side traces back to Driftwood through Orphan Drift by Driftwood Ike, and back to Doc Bar through Little Doc Mose by Clark's Doc Bar. He traces to Doc Bar a second time through his grandsire, Tally Man by Scotto Dee Bar by Doc's Dee Bar. Doc's Dee Bar was an AQHA Champion and Superior Halter and Western Pleasure stallion. His granddam, Bambi Doc Mose traces back to Neosho Wimpy, the 1965 AQHA Champion. Bambi Doc Mose won the Mon-Dak reining futurity as a 3-year-old and went on to become a superb roping horse and performance broodmare.
On the bottom side of his pedigree, Gotta Lotta Drift shows where he got his name. He is full of Driftwood. His dam, Three Times Wood by Double Driftwood and out of Ms Jean Wood by Blanton Wood, carries the Driftwood line three times through Driftwood sons, Driftwood Ike and Drifting Sage, and Driftwood daughter, Woodfern. But the roping/cowhorse blood doesn't stop there. Lucky Blanton is just off his papers as is the 1979 AQHA Champion, Snippys Cowboy. Snippys Cowboy was a top ten World Show performer with his Performance ROM and a Superior in Reining. Gotta Lotta Drift's dam, Three Times Wood, is a granddaughter of the great Wilywood, sire of 24 AQHA performers earning 692 point, 11 performance ROMs and five Superior performance awards as well as winning multiple American Buckskin Registry Association world championships.
