Gypsy is an 8 yr old Welsh pony/Paint/Arabian cross pony. She is eligible for a half Welsh registration, and all paper work is in order, but has never been submitted. Her coloring is beautiful and flashy, and she has a long, flowing mane and tail. I have ridden her on all sorts of rough trails here in Missouri, and she has crossed streams and fallen logs. She does not mind heavy under brush. She will ride both English and Western. When I kept her in Montana, I used her to move cattle several times, so she is comfortable around livestock. I have also taken her to parades, and she was wel behaved. She is very willing and easy to work with, and I think that she would make an excellent safe horse for a child who wanted to trail ride and show recreationally. I believe that she could easily be shown for 4-H or in basic English shows.
I use Easy Boot Gloves on her front feet when I ride on gravel or rough terrain, and would include those with her. I can also include Western tack if it is needed.
This mare has foundered in the past (about a year ago), but is sound now. I have included several photos of her hooves, and you are welcome to have her inspected by a veterinarian or farrier of your choice. She is currently kept on a small wooded pasture that does not have grass, and is fed hay and alfalfa pellets. She should not be kept on a large grass pasture, and would likely do best in a stall or dry lot.
I would love to answer any questions you might have, and I will take any more pictures that you would like to see. I can also get video of her riding, or would be happy to arrange a time to show her. If you are from out of the area, I am willing to arrange to have her professionally transported. She has been moved in the past and was well behaved. The cost for professional transport varies, but should be around $1000.
