Piacenza started in the jumper ring in Holland successfully completing up to the 1.30 m jumpers, and was then imported to the United States to enter hunter/jumper training. She competed successfully at the A level for several years in both hunters and jumpers with her young riders with numerous wins at HITS Ocala.
