Licrice is a beautiful 2002 black Clydesdale mare that we bought her from Sisters View Clydesdales out of Oregon in 2008. While at our farm, she has been started under saddle and began light work over cavalettis, which she really enjoyed. She also went out on a few trail rides and did light jumping work but needs a few more miles before an inexperienced rider can ride her. Licrice is a pure pleasure to lunge and picks up walk, trot and canter via voice commands in an instant, even after not being worked in months! She has great ground manners and has worn a driving harness, although we have not driven her yet. Licrice is a new type Clydesdale mare with long athletic legs and great talent for dressage. She stands very well for the farrier, has strong hooves and stands well for braiding. She trailers with ease and is on a regular vaccination and deworming schedule.
Licrice has had an outstanding Drum Colt in 2009 that made it on the 2010 ADHA Calendar and was sold to the Volunteer Mounted Police in Orlando, FL where he wowed his new owners with his wonderful personality and willingness to work. Licrice has been with us for almost 5 years now and with my new job I have not been able to give her the time she deserves.
We feel that Licrice would be best suited for a home that has time for her 2-3 days a week, even if it is only to brush her down, as she really strives on human interaction. She would be a fun horse to take to any halter or riding class and could excel as a vaulting horse. If you are planning on using her as a brood mare, we have found that she does best with hormone therapy prior to breeding. Her pregnancy was pleasingly uneventful and she foaled with ease. On top of being a wonderful mother, Licrice is also double registered with the CBUSA and ADHA, making her eligible to have both, a purebred Clydesdale foal or the dam of your next Drum foal!
Licrice comes with your choice of either a free 2013 Breeding to our black Clydesdale Stallion Northrich Ransom (Armageddons Lord Solomon X Diamond S Roxie) or 50% off one months riding training at a local facility before leaving for her new home. She is priced to sell and payment plans can be arranged. Please email or call for more information and pictures.
Why buy a horse from Farview Acres?
F- Foundation. We pride ourselves in giving all our foals and weanling a strong foundation on the ground, helping them become well adjusted and easy to handle weanlings.
A - Animal-specific feeding and training programs. Each horse is different and we work hard to allow each one of them to grow and mature as fast, or as slow, as nature intended. The horses health and well being will always come before fast results!
R- Regular schedules. Our horses are fed and cleaned at the same time each day, preventing anxiety and stall vices.
V- Vision. We believe in a world with more draft horses. This is why we guide our clients from the purchase decision all the way to their first rides on their new horse and beyond. We have forged strong relationships with all of our clients of the past years and are excited to watch their partnership with their new horse grow.
I-Integrity. We will not lie, or in any other way misrepresent our horse, their pictures, enhance their strengths or cover up their weaknesses. We feel that it is important to introduce each horse as best as possible to future clients, making sure that there will be a good match between horse and human. We will not doctor our pictures or promise you something that our horse cannot achieve.
E- Extra Mile. We believe that purchasing a horse is a lifetime commitment and are happy to assist you in the process as best as possible. Should you ever run into trouble down the road, or feel that you are unable to keep your horse, we are happy to assist you in finding a new home for the animal- or take it back ourselves.
W- When- So when will you become part of the Farview Family?
