Eragon is a 5 yr old 18hh Friesan/Dutch Warmblood. He is black with a small white coronet on his left hind. He has amazing movement and stellar conformation, about as close to fitting in that square box as you’ll get . He has strong hooves and has always been barefoot. I love him dearly; however, he has tons of potential, and as a full time college student taking 21 credit hours plus working, the occasional midnight rides in our lighted arena are not near enough to do him justice. He is so smart though, I spent the summer in Russia, and he had not been ridden for 3 months when I came back. Most 5 year olds would be all feisty, but not him- he did everything I asked perfectly. He doesn’t forget. Sometimes he does get an idea of what he wants to do, he has a very strong willed personality, but I think that is one of the traits that will make him go far. For example, if we are working on dressage, and a jump is set up in the arena, he might try and grab the bit and canter over the jump). However, after working past that for a few minutes he resolves to go along with the boring human ideas . He is not spooky. If something gets his attention, he just wants to go check it out and eat it :P. When I first got him about a year and a half ago, he would do a small rear at whatever it was, however, he has since realized he is not a dragon .It is truly amazing how fast he learns and how eager he is to please. He is super easy to ride. To turn, just look where you want to go. For a sharper turn, use the slightest leg pressure. You don’t need the reins. Just use them to collect, etc. When you are trotting, merely sit deep in the saddle and he will come to an immediate halt. Before I left for the summer, it took me two rides to teach him flying changes. However, he liked them a little too much and now likes to do tempi changes so we are working on toning it down a bit I have only ridden him a handful of times since I have gotten back though. He wants to do SO much more!!! I have jumped him 3’3’’, and he has been free jumped 4’6’’. The only thing holding him back is his lack of fitness, because of my lack of time! He also LOVES the open countryside. His gallop sounds like thunder and is so much fun to ride. Half Lease is $350 and Full Lease is $500.He rides in a plain loose ring snaffle. He is also for sale for $20k. email Angela at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
