Vera was imported from the Netherlands in 2004, 9 months in foal. She is an exceptional broodmare, having given birth to seven beautiful foals, two of which were born in the Netherlands and five of which were born after she was imported. She has never had a problem with giving birth or bonding with any of her foals nor with people being around them. In addition to being a great broodmare, Vera is a wonderful mount. She has been primarily ridden in trail pleasure, but has lately been in Dressage schooling. So far she has done very well in her Dressage training. She is very supple and does not fight the bit. Vera has no problems keeping her head in the proper position and will willingly collect her trot, or go all out. She has a pleasant and comfortable seat that anyone can enjoy. Vera was also trained and judged in harness to pull a cart while in the Netherlands, and did very well. She has retained her talent in harness and cart and could easily be turned into a competitive driving horse.
Vera has a willing and devoted personality with no known vices. She stands well for the farrier, and will gladly load into any trailer. She is not afraid of the clippers, and will even let you clip in her ears without putting up a fight. Vera has been ridden on trails and in parades without any trouble. She also has no history of medical problems. She has never coliced, exhibited any lameness, nor suffered complications with her pregnancies. Although most of the above pictures were taken in the spring, while she still had most of her winter fuzz, Vera has a beautiful black silky coat when she sheds out. Her mane, tail, and feathers stay very full and beautiful all year long. She is a stunning horse with nice movement that would do well in all areas of horsemanship. This is one mare you won't want to pass up! For more information, photos, and vidoe, please visit: www.friesianobsession.com
