Thank you for the reply. I have shared the ad with my trainer and my husband.
Here are our thoughts-
Your ad states that he stalls good but your response states that he needs practice. We just spent a bunch of money on upgraded our stalls. We stall our horses at night. Not sure if we can provide the optimal living situation for him.
Driving- my husband would be open to expanding our budget to your asking price if he was trained for driving.
Video- we would like to see him move (and be ridden). and see him respond to tacking, grooming, leading etc please let us know when available.
We own 10 acres in Washington County. (6 acres of pasture). The horses are handled daily. We own the Arab and board a paint mare and percheron TB cross mare. We have a sizable outdoor arena but no indoor. We ride when weather permits (thanks to Wisconsin-this spring has been miserable). Optimally, 3-4 times a week. Our trainer is back to college so we mainly do lessons during breaks in her schedule.
Thank you. Kris
Nickers does stall well for shorter periods (after working) but needs practice stalling for longer periods without the distraction of hay. He has not been trained for driving- only riding and there are no plans to add driving for him. We have horse expo this weekend but will get video next week- email me so I can send it to you: email@example.com

Hello. Just seeing if Nickers is still available. Has he done any driving? Do you have any video of him? Do you have his pedigree? any vices/bad habits? How is he in the herd? Any health/hoof issues? Any issues with buddy/barn sour?
I am in search of a life long family horse. I have a 27 year old Arab that I have owned for 20 years. My kids have enjoyed learning to ride on him but realize that he is old (I personally no longer ride him faster than a walk). Nickers seems to be a good match for our family. My daughter (almost 10)is looking to show and I would love to take our new horse on an occasional trail ride. We live near Milwaukee, so I would love to see him worked in a video prior to making the drive. Any other photos would be nice too.
Thank you for your time.
No, he has not done any driving and I will see if we can get some video this week:)
no health issues, right now he does better if there is another horse in the indoor arena with him but outside he can walk away from the herd and works great in the outdoor arena- our indoor is new and he will just need a little time to adjust.
Will you be working with a trainer? He is just coming 5 and still needs consistant handling and training. He loves kids and they love him! but I would not call him 100% kid safe yet due to his age.
he does great on trail rides and likes to be in the front or next to the front horse- he has a nice forward walk on the trail and was the #1 trail horse choice for all of our interns and training assts last summer and fall.
He needs more practice stalling- right now he will stall nicely for a while as long as he is eating and there is another horse he can see. We moved to our new property in Nov and I dont think Nickers had ever been in a barn or stall before then. He walks in and out of stalls and trailers quietly and safely.
He truly is an awesome horse and would be a great lifetime family horse :)
I added some more pics from winter to nickers gallery that show him running and playing- he loves to play and will annoy the older horses all day- he is like the little brother they never wanted:
you can call us anytime at 715.273.6070 and ask for Ruth or Lynette- Lynette owns the ranch and is the trainer and I along with other interns worked with Nickers under her supervision.
