Honey has been a wonderful "Mommy" for our farm. She has given me two beautiful horses with great personalities. She has also adopted younger stock and mothered them. She is happiest as a surrogate mom and makes a fantastic, calming influence on younger horses. Her last foal left her with a painful pressure point on her back where a rider would sit. As long as she does not have to bear weight she is completely sound. Cornell said she could do light driving, and she has been ground driven recently. She seems to know what it is, but needs a refresher. They also said that with regular exercise she could become sound for riding again. I still use her for pony rides bareback for my 2 and 3 year olds and she does well with that. I would not put more than 40-50 pounds on her at this point.
