Free lease on two haflinger ponies. Duke & Daisy are in their late teens and have lived together for many years so they should stay together. They are approximately 13hh but very stout. They have been started in harness & have a team harness that could come with them if someone wants to drive them. You'd need experience with this because they have never been hitched.
They are both broke to ride and fairly safe although I wouldn't call them bomb proof. Both will tolerate a less experienced rider if there is an experienced horse person to supervise. Daisy is sound and sturdy. Duke is not 100% sound but really enjoys people and is okay for light riding by a lighter person (150# or less).
They would make great trail horses for a smaller adult couple or teenagers with some experience.
I would like to retain ownership of them mostly just to be sure they are safe and cared for. We will be moving up to big acreage in GA in a few years and will take them there to retire when the time comes if needed, but someone should enjoy them in the mean time. I would consider selling them to the right person, but it is VERY important to me that these guys are safe and cared for.
They are easy keepers, stay barefoot, and would come with all their things including blankets, tack, team harness if you want to drive them. Approved home only, they are accustomed to living on pasture with some sort of run in shelter from the rain. They would prefer not to live in stalls, but they do like to get out of a hard rain.
They are not suitable for speed games, barrels or lesson program. I will only send them somewhere where they will be enjoyed by a couple of or a family, treated with respect and receiving all their regular care such as feet trimmings, dewormings, vaccinations ect.
