5 year old red roan AQHA registered mare. 15.2h Big boned, sound, and healthy. Great personality as she's always the first to greet you, follows you around and very curious. She gets worked pretty hard some days but still always wants attention.
"Rodeo" is used in arena and on trail. She rides off on her own easily, and also rides in group. She walks with a nice pace and covers some ground. Not one to "drag her feet". She is traffic safe. Use to being around dogs, tractors, 4-wheelers. She has been on overnight trail rides, and hauled to parks in the area including the Becker park with many bridge crossings and steps and shes always the first to cross when other horses get nervous and refuse. Just took her on a long ride through El Rancho and although she was the youngest horse there she navigated the trails like a pro. Even had to pony an "experienced" horse across a flowing water crossing. She was very impressive and proved what a great mind she has. Even after 4 hours of up and down hills she was up beat and walking with a purpose.
I have worked her a little on the barrel pattern and pole weaving. She will never be a 1D horse, but I like to teach her new things. Shes sharp in the arena. Takes leads, has a collect lope, very nice jog, moves off leg very well. Never used spurs on her. She side passes, gives to the bit, flexes at the poll. Has a great stop. Will ride in a rope halter or snaffle. She does not neck rein but we have been working on that. She has hauled to some local shows for fun. She will get up and go when asked and calms right down after. I have tossed a rope off her and drug barrels around without a problem.
I have had some green riders on her and some experienced ones, but mainly I'm the one that rides her. She is still young so I wouldn't say shes a beginners horse, but she is safe enough to have a green rider take her out once in a while with a experienced person there. Rodeo is very beautiful and her unique color gets noticed.
This mare truly has no vices. Saddles and bridles easily. Loads right in the trailer. Easy to spray, clips, stands for trims, had shoes put on last year and she just stood in the yard as the farrier hammered the shoes on.
A great home is a MUST for her. She has so much to offer and she needs to be loved back.
