Extremely Gentle, Beginner and Kid Safe
Dallas is a 9 yr old 15.2 hand tall Palomino Fox Trotter Gelding. He is an extremely gentle, slow & easy going boy. Definitely beginner safe and kid safe. Dallas does ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that is asked of him, and doesn't have a silly acting bone in his big body! I guarantee the only way he could hurt anyone, would be if he stepped in a hole and fell on you...and that would be by sheer accident!! Dallas is super, super easy to ride, and never in any hurry to get any where. He is very laid back, and tends to be a little on the lazy side. Dallas's speed of preference is a walk, but will go into a little Fox Trot if he is kicked or following another horse that is doing so. He is most definitely a horse that you never have to worry about him running off with anyone!! Dallas is the perfect trail horse because he gets out there and lowers is head and will just walk along the trails all day long. Dallas steps right over anything, crosses water, swims rivers and takes steep hills and ditches slow and easy. He has been used by many beginners and kids, due to his easy going personality. I have watched an older man riding him with one grandkid in front of him, and one behind him, and they were walking around camp at Eminence Trail ride eating ice cream cones. Dallas just never gets upset or flustered about anything...he just minds his own business and moseys right along. He will ride out alone, and is perfectly happy, or he could care less if the other horses take off and leave him on the trail...he's just content doing his own thing! Dallas neck reins, backs, stands for mounting and dismounting, and whoa's with just a tap on the reins. He is a big and stocky boy, and can carry any size or age rider, and has about done and seen it all. His personality will crack you up, because he is like a big dog that takes life like there's no big hurry to rush thru it. If you are looking for a gentle horse to just take it easy and relax on, then you will love him...if you want to fly all over the place, then you would hate Dallas in the first 5 minutes of being on him! By looking at him, you wouldn't know it with his winter coat, but he turns the prettiest gold color come Spring and Summer time. I have witnessed Dallas lent out to people that have never even touched a horse before, and no one ever has a bit of trouble out of him...he can make anyone look like a veteran rider, he's so easy to ride. Dallas comes right up to you in the pasture, happily stands tied all day long, hauls quietly, and is so, so easy to get along with. Just a big Teddy Bear that doesn't have an ornery bone in his body!! If you're just starting out, or finally ready to just relax and take it easy, then you will absolutely love this big, gentle boy! Dallas rides bareback with just a halter and lead, and responds just the same as if he had a bit in his mouth. Leave him stand for months on end, and just pull him out and throw a saddle on...no need to ever, ever have to lunge or work him before a ride. As laid back and gentle of a horse as I will ever come across! The most important thing I can ever emphasize about these gaited horses is - The lower the head is carried, the more brains being used, the higher the head, the less brains being used!! Super duper safe and dependable! Call Kelli at 314-608-1800
