Born in 2004, Mathijs is a very proud, regal looking Friesian stallion that is very well-behaved and loves attention, which is no surprise given his exceptionally outstanding papers. He is sired by Jakob 302, a very powerful stallion located in Holland. Jakob’s semen is not shipped outside of Holland so there are very few Jakob babies in this country; this makes Mathijs even more special. What really makes him a rare find is the outstanding line he stems from. Not only is his dam, Richtsje a 1st premium Ster mare, but Richtsje’s dam, grand-dam, great grand-dam, and great-great grand-dam are all Preferent, which means this whole line is proven to only produce top quality offspring without exception. Mathijs has developed into a unique and sweet stallion who is often a favorite with his trainers as he grows more and more proficient under saddle and in harness. At the stallion approval testing in the spring of 2010, Mathijs made the second highest score ever marked in FPZV history and also took High Point Driving Champion. We've found out recently that Mathijs, along with fellow stallion Othello, set a new high keur score record for the FPZV! The previous record had been 8.0, and Mathijs marked an impressive 8.2! Mathijs is permanently approved to breed through the FPZV and is available for stud in 2010!
