(SOLD) Gage is an exceptional trail horse. He stands quietly for you to mount and dismount. He moves out into a smooth gait upon request and maintains his gait consistently. On the trail he will lead, follow or cooperatively ride beside other horses. He is surefooted and navigates obstacles well (mud puddles, ditches, creeks, logs, steep terrain, heavy equipment and dogs). Gage currently has a natural barefoot trim and his feet are in very good condition. He cooperates with the farrier and the vet. He behaves for all aspects of personal care from baths, trimming ears and cleaning his sheath. All his medical records are up to date and includes a negative coggins. Gage enjoys his training time and responds best to natural horsemanship methods. He is best suited for an advanced beginner or intermediate or experienced rider. I am not recommending him for first time rider only because he is willing to move out if asked which might excite someone who has not established confidence in their riding skills. However, I have put a novice rider on him with personal instruction and Gage did great! A plus for his new owner would be someone who practices (or is willing to learn) natural horsemanship. He is very respectful of a good leader and enjoys time spent with his human. Gage is being offered for $2,500 firm and is worth his weight in gold. Additional video updates area available on youtube.com by searching: Sharon Bowers Gage (Short clips of Gage performing simple tasks like standing still for mount, dismount,, backing and his nice easy stride in his walk and gait). On the trail he is such a pleasure to ride. He has excellent endurance, a very smooth canter and the ability to make some lucky individual a heck of a trail horse!
