Exceptional Friesian Warmblood Colt
Onyx is a 98.44% Friesian and 3.13% Warmblood stud colt. His sire is Picasso's Masterpiece, our black and white tobiano Barock Pinto (shown in the video). His Friesian dam is Zoey fan Top Hat (shown with him in the video) our Friesian mare.
His breed is called a Barock Pinto, and Onyx is a "Barock Black". When a pinto is heterzygous and bred to a Friesian mare there is a 50% chance of getting a solid black foal.
Onyx is 3 months old in the first video and the first group of pictures, is 15 days old in the second video and almost 4 months old in the second group of pictures where his foal coat is fading (Florida sun!) and starting to shed out (he looks redder but will return to black when his foal coat has shed out). He is also considered a part-bred Friesian Warmblood or Friesian Sporthorse.
Onyx is a very big boy for his age. He's well muscled, has outstanding confirmation, has a lot of hair and is an excellent mover. He's very intelligent, curious and likes to try new things. He's been handled daily since birth. His confirmation and forward movement will allow him to excel in a dressage or driving career. He should mature to 16.1 - 16.2 hands and will have lots of hair like his sire. He is weaned and ready to go to his new home. If he hasn't sold by six months of age, he will be gelded and his price increased accordingly.
Onyx DNA tested heterozygous black, he's had his first set of foal shots and coggins. He is registered with the Friesian Sporthorse Association in the Main Book and is also eligible for registration with the American Warmblood Society.
