    About
Dakota is an AMAZING well trained spotted saddle horse mare, black and white, 14.3h, 11 yrs old and she neck reins. The is very well TRAINED mare that has always known LOVE. But - she has major vision loss and will most likely go blind in a very few yrs. So, I am trying to find her a safe and horse savvy home where the geography won't change so that she can continue to be a riding horse and pasture companion. (I am not looking for anyone to breed her please). We have used her for riding lessons and she is an AWESOME trail horse with another horse. You would NOT know there was a vision issue at this time but I'm looking at what she will need when her eye site does fail her. If you'd like to call Melissa (540)303-0569 or email melissa@walking-after-midnight .com I can send lot's of photos and videos. To adopt Dakota from me I'll need vet references and personal references. An older lady rider that needs a companion horse and then a horse that can be used lightly for easy trails or to have fun on in a ring would be ideal. I am going to make sure she is adopted by a home that will value and care for her properly for all of her natural life. I expect who ever that takes her to come to my farm and meet her first. I have more video's of her on my youtube site called blackwidowfarm. See a Playlist called "Dakota". Great video of her cantering and then transitioning to a SMOOTH running walk, while she is leading her pasture mate. (You would really not know there is a vision issue... ). This horse will take some one that can spend time with her doing ground work before you jump in and ride her but an experienced horse owner will enjoy time with Dakota. She also trailers easily. Dakota leads, loads, clips, is excellent for the farrier. She needs a current coggins but I've kept her wormed and hoof trimmed, teeth have been floated this year as well.
