We have a lovely foundation appaloosa mare who is bred to a black thoroughbred stallion. You can see this stallion jumping 1.1 meter jumps at http://www.maggiesmenagerie.info/hrsImage.php?page=[InkJet]We are getting out of breeding and downsizing our numbers to just a couple of riding horses.
Connie is guaranteed to put color on any baby. Her first foal was a red leopard appaloosa (bred to a red leopard stallion). Her second foal is pictured here - a LOUD bay blanket (by the black thoroughbred stallion); and her foal this year is a solid bay with some white spots on his rump. Although Connie is only 14.3, her growth was stunted due to being bottlefed by her first owner, but her sire & dam & siblings are all 15.1-15.3. Her yearling (the blanket) is only 1 year, 2 months and is already 14 hands. This bay baby came out bigger than the blanket. I am attaching pictures of the yearling and the weanling she is nursing.
There are a couple of possibilities for you in terms of your breeding program:
1. Connie (in foal to black thoroughbred stallion) and her weanling - $2000
2. Connie (in foal to black thoroughbred stallion) without her new bay baby -- would have to wait until September when it is weaned - $1200
