160 ACRES OF BEAR & DEER
This 160 Acres is in the heart of some of the best bear hunting in the state. This 1/2 mile square of property consists of 160 acres stretching from Buffalo Creek in the valley up the north side of the mountain with over 1000' feet in elevation change to nearly the top of Buffalo Mountain. It is located on the back (north) side of Buffalo Mountain and is extremely secluded and has an awesome habitat for bear with lots of rock ledges for shelters & dens. There are also many springs up the mountain side on the nearly level shelves. Buffalo Creek is on the north boundary of the property and provides even more water for the abundant bear, deer & turkey that populate the area. The local landowners and residents report seeing many deer, turkey, bear and other game in the area.
This property is accessed by crossing other properties on an old logging, pioneer trace that ambles along the Buffalo Creek. This is wilderness land, no fences, electric or rural water here.
Just walking the acreage is a pure adventure, but be sure to bring good hiking boots and rugged outdoor clothing as there are many blackberry bushes, thorny vines and underbrush as well as many openly wooded benches up the mountain side.
