Big Bold Beautiful Bay Gelding - NEW pics/videos!
came to us in 2011 as the result of a divorce. He was fit and mid show season. We sold Slick last year to one of our favorite barns! The barn has gone through some trainer and direction changes and that left Slick without a job or a rider. He has been hanging out
since April and enjoying his little vacation but now that he is here, its back to work! Poor Slick! :) He hasn't missed any meals and he breaks a sweat pretty fast. This is a big, beautiful, bold horse that can take the right rider far! He has a very solid build and is by no means a slender lanky Thoroughbred. This guy is fully capable of handling a heavier rider. He is fun to ride and oh so smooth! Do take the time to watch his 2012 video and see for yourself (although do forgive Amber's form over fences...Slick jumps but Amber does not). He is riding in a plain egg butt snaffle but can be bit strong coming down from the canter so we would now ride him in one of our Myler snaffles. Slick is a sensible horse both on the ground and under saddle. He is also a
very smart horse and, for that reason, needs to be under the direction of someone with a bit of experience! If he can wiggle his way out of work, he will - see tacking up segment of video! If you continue on and ignore it, he gives up quickly. All this guy needs to shine is a routine with the right rider or trainer! He is suitable for intermediate or better lessons as he does just fine with someone overseeing him who has
his number! He is rather typical of a smart and experienced horse!
Slick is gorgeous on the flat and enjoys work over fences as well. He has had nothing but the best of care, is current on all vaccines, and is sporting a fresh set of shoes all the way around. Please take the time to watch his videos and see for yourself!

Slick's age & history: When we first bought Slick in 2011, we put him at 15yo based upon his teeth as we had some difficulty deciphering his lip tattoo. Lexi, his owner for the past year, worked diligently with the Jockey Club and her vet to make it out and was successful! Slick is actually 13yo and his registration papers are available through the Jockey Club! Thank you to Lexi for her persistence and for taking such great care of Slick this past year!
