2008 Reg. KWPN (L'Andiamo x Sun Sett) turned 5 at the end of May and has been under saddle for 1 1/2 years. Diamo has been in 5 days a week training for the past 6 months and is doing very well. Can work in a group setting or alone, hacks by himself or in a group. He is very athletic and things come easy to him. He has been started slowly and carefully and is still growing, so we are not pushing him too fast. He needs a trainer that will keep him busy and constantly changing things. He is a little spooky, he does not bolt or buck or anything really bad, just moves a few steps away from the scary object. I would not recommend him for a beginner because he is young, smart and gets bored very easily. He is always trying to please and is still learning the ropes of how to be a dressage. He has been working on leg yields and transitions within the gaits. He is very flexible and soft in hand.
Diamo has great German bloodlines with his sire being L'andiamo (Oldenburg with Lord Liberty as Grand sire) of Huntington Farm and dam is Sun Sett (Dutch Warmblood imported from Germany). He is cute and friendly and loves attention. He has nice floaty gaits, free in the shoulder, should do very well at the upper level dressage. He has natural piaffe and changes when he is free lunged. He is a quick learner, smart and curious. He has been handled daily and trailers nicely. He is good with the farrier, vet, clips, and bathes. He will be about 16.3h tall, with his parents both at 16.3 hands and should excel in either dressage or jumping. He has been trucked to different farms for lessons and was showed once last year.
L'ANDIAMO was bred by Heinz Luers the breeder of RELEVANT, Lisa Wilcoxs Olympic mount and SURE HIT. His european bloodlines go back to Lord Liberty G and Furioso II. LORD LIBERTY G competes at Prix St Georges level and is described as the ideal model being very correct with three excellent gaits. In the German media Lord Liberty G was exclaimed in 2001 to be the biggest breeding success. In 2000 Lord Liberty G's daughter Liberty Largo conquered the champions title with the 5 year old dressage horses. His offspring have been in demand at German auctions and at the 2001 PSI auction his daughter Love Parade was sold for 900,000. FURIOSO II, Furioso II is one of the most influential sires of show jumpers, producing over 200 state premium mares and 68 approved sons. He was bred by H. Lemoine Escajeul, and was later imported to Germany by George Vorwerk. Furioso II won his 100-day testing, held at Westercelle in 1968. He went on to become the top producing stallion in Germany from 1979-89, based on earnings won by offspring, and was still the top producer of dressage horses in 1990.
SUN SETT is a Dutch Warmblood mare with bloodlines from Voltaire and LandGarf I. VOLTAIRE was really the first of the super star performance stallions to go on and prove himself equally as important as a breeding stallion. Sun Sett is an imported mare who is a maternal half sister to Denny Emerson's mares Beaulieu's Cool Concorde and Beaulieu's Cool Attitude.
