2000 AQHA 15.2h Red Roan Gelding. Jake is a big, stout and kind gelding that can move out and cover country. He’s a trail riders dream with added extras! For trail riding he has been ridden double by my wife and son in Nebraska and has taken our 12 year old daughter through miles and miles of rough and rolling country in the Black Hills of South Dakota. She also just had him in the local 4th of July parade and candy bouncing off of and around him was no problem! Crosses water, logs, knows his leads and side passes well. As for the extras he consistently gets the kids in position for heading and heeling on the Sparky and Hot Heels roping machines. His former owner roped steers off him but he is my wife’s horse and she doesn’t rope. Jake is the first one at the gate to meet you. He has a very laid back personality. Our kids 9 – 16 ride him with halter and bareback all over and knows when a young rider is on his back. I would put any semi-experienced rider on him anyday. He is 4-wheeler, chicken, dog, and traffic safe. He gets along well with other horses. He is up-to-date on shots, wormings and shoes. Only put shoes on him for a Black Hills trip, otherwise has good hard feet with no problems. Stands good for ferrier, baths, shots and wormings. Has never kicked, bucked, or bit. We hate to see him go but with 6 horses and only 5 riders we have one too many.
