Hi I am looking for a horse that my 9 yr old daughter can learn to ride on and maybe take to 4h .We have a small pony she outgrew and my horse has too high of a temperament for her to ride. I need a horse that is calm and quiet. One that dose not crib. If you think this would be a good match text or email me back. Thanks, Cindy

O'Lena would be a good match for any child novice. I've had my young very novice nephews (age 8 & 11) take lessons on her last year and was perfect. We actually purchased her from Our Pleasure Stable in Rittman where she was a lesson and show horse. She does not crib. She does not require longing. Her only issue is that she does not like to be cross-tied as she was shipped to Ohio from Kansas in a cattle trailer and hit her head every time she went to raise it. I went against this per a teacher's instructions, O'Lena got scared, and I ended up with a broken toe. That was the only instance. To solve this, I simply groom and saddle her up in her stall. As a beginner myself, I've had instances where I didn't cinch her tightly enough and when I went to get on, the saddle slowly rolled to O'Lena's left. She just continued standing there and looked back at me as though I were stupid (which I was). I'm glad that you have a horse as well, one that would be good company for O'Lena. If you were to be the right buyer, we only ask that if you decided to sell in the future that you contact us back to see if we're in a different place financially where we could buy her back. She's an awesome girl. Thanks for the inquiry.
