Hijo is an amazing trail horse that at only 8 years has thousands of trail miles. Ride with your slowest friend or your fastest friend and be comfortable and safe. He has won over $600 in cattle sorting yet will carry a beginner rider at the speed safest for them. In our first cow sorting series we came home with the Open Womens buckle. He'll come up to work a cow and come right down to go down steep rocky slopes. He's rounded up horses and cows on tough terrain and if you trust him then he'll find them for you also. Exposed to bears, lions, and moose on the trails without spooking. He's not dead headed though and has consistently placed high in our areas extreme trail challenges. His mother is a purebred Paso Fino who placed 9th in the World Championship Ride and Tie and won honorable mention for her vet scores. Dad was a foundation ranch quarter horse. Hijo is not gaited, but has a nice smooth trot and lope. He's guided trail rides into town on busy city streets and has had starring roles in our local parades. He loads into a one horse trailer and has been barefoot trimmed always. For 4-H kids he could go in any direction. I've used bitless bridles, snaffle bits, and bosals all with the same results. He's extremely soft in the bridle. I can't say enough about this incredible guy. If I had more time I'd never consider selling him, but he wants to work and should work.
