Amazing Gelding- gonna go far!
Levi is a 15.3hh sorrel arabian with a flaxen mane with light blonde streaks. He does have an arab face, but not as bad as most arabs. He is built nice and stocky with a thick chest and rounded off rump that's so big you can see the individual cheeks from his back! He is an amazing boy and I just got him, only reason I'm selling him is because I am a horse flipper. I buy them cheap- train them and work with them and put a lot of ride time on them then sell them. But he doesn't need as much work as I thought he would. He is an amazing boy, registered with amazing lineage. His registered name is Santiago. He has one star and a cornet on his hind right leg. His hooves are in good conditions ad was just tested negative for mites and is wormed monthly on a STRICT worming schedule. I have him on 8 pounds if Safe Choice horse grain a day. 2 scoops in the morning, 2 at night but I may decline the food ammount since he is eating on a roundbale and is the only horse in his pasture. Deals good with other horses, no bite not buck no kick. If you hate the spooky, high spirited Arab mentality he's your guy. He is CALM. I bought him from a lady who took him to Craig Cameron for 90 days of extensive training and got him back when her husband died- so she left him in the pasture for 2 years no human contact in a swampy/marshy 80 acre pasture. I bought him expecting him to be wild, but he calmly got into our trailer and we took him home. He was calm enough for me to ride him a few minutes after I got home. When he was 4 he was broke to ride and was entered in the Arabian Nationals Endurance 30 mile races and won three cups. He is now 8, and still has his endruance racing gait which is VERY smooth. Wont spook at anything and will splash right across a creek and knee deep mud, go up and down hills and will jump over anything really. Never seen him kick at any of my dogs and they run under and around him. I am presently training him to do barrels and poles and track and sort. He took to the barrels fine but I'm only walking him on them, along with the poles. Does seem a little nervous around the cows and I have to work him in spurs on the cows- but I figure he will come around after a while I may put him in the pasture with my cows so he can go acustom to them since he seems a bit skittish. He is VERY intellegent and learns VERY quick. So, shouldn't take anything more than 2 months to get him complete on the barrels, since I do ride him every night when I get home. Same with poles. He will side pass, but you have to make him, you can't "ask" him. He will not take off you with you and will slide. He does back up quite quick as well. I have never roped off of him, but I've roped near him with no reaction. He's got a forelock that goes all the way down his face and his mane is nice and long. He is not very a beginner rider, but for an intermediate or experienced rider he will be fine. He's a big teddy bear that comes up to you in the pasture and loves all over you.
