when I arrived:
Eternal Wheels (aka Dixie) was given to me by the boarding facility where I work. They had purchased her for use as a lesson horse but she was found to have leg injuries that limit her to walk/trot.
bio:
Dixie is a sweet, gentle 15hh bay Quarter horse mare who responds best to a patient but firm hand. Good in the field with other horses! Stands for bathing/ grooming. Very willing but not suitable for a beginner.
special features:
Must wear support boots on her hind legs when under saddle. Shots/coggins/farrier are current. Diet supplemented with glucosamine and bute due to stiffness and discomfort in hind legs.
likes:
Dixie loves treats, especially peppermints! She is a great trail horse although will spook on occasion, especially if riding alone. She is more calm in groups.
dislikes:
Dixie is resistant to having her feet lifted but is getting better as I work with her. She also gets nervous in cross-ties. (Makes me wonder what she endured before being purchased by us.)
