9 year old DOES IT ALL!!
He's a very versatile boy in the showring. He jumps approx. 36" after one year of training, has been locally and regionally shown with high success in western and english pleasure, showmanshi, and gymkhana events. Boo has nice ground manners. Trail rides with traffic and animals popping out very well. He'll try to pretend he's afraid of puddles, but once you make him go through them once or twice he's alright.
He loads well in slant load trailers but not as smoothly in straight load. (If this is a selling point, I can work on it with him until it's no longer an issue) Stands very well for the farrier but is high stung with the vet. Just recently he chilled out when it comes to bathing.
The ONLY reason that I'm selling him is because I'm in college full time and planning on enlisting in the military when I get out. I've had Boo since he was 2, and have poured my heart and soul into his training. I don't want his talent to waste away and be forgotten at pasture. He's advertised for sale but lease of $1000 per year is also an option.
Photos: the jumping picture is a little old. He could successfully jump a regular barrel sized jump at the end of 2011.
The free running one is him doing a flying lead change but it's not obvious.
The showmanship pic is us winning Showman of Showmen at the 2007 Alpena County Fair
The pole bending is showing his semi wide turns. We don't have any poles set up, so it's not his best event.
The sliding is his speed and action potential! I tried doing a little reining with him but I don't have the money to get into that
The picture that I'm wearing the raincoat in is from a cowboy challenge class that we won. The most challenging part was running through a sprinkler system and backing in an L
