Dusty was rescued on 2/1/09, from a dire situation. He is a coming 2 year old, and has a very easy going personality. Right now he's just under 14hh, and about 700#... but will be growing a lot more... Dusty's front right leg is turned out from an injury that we are currently learning more about. He bares full weight, gets around well, and doesn't seem to have any major issues with his movement. Just playing in the pen, he has lovely sliding stops and spins, proving his coordination. Checked by Farrier on 2/3/09, Wormed 2/2/09, Gelded+5way+WN 2/5/09. After he has fully recovered we will look at our options for chiropractic, and orthopedic adjustments for his leg. In the mean time we will do some work to learn more about his needs and where he is in training. So far, he had no trouble loading in the trailer, tied well, was easy to worm and is very passive with other horses. He respects electric fencing, and hasn't had any issues with going inside buildings, blanketing, or clippers. Dusty has gotten along great around children, dogs, and cats. He will be sent home with wormer for a year, and a sample of his supplement pellets to help transition to his new home's diet. We will post updated photos and information as we know more, and will be excepting inquiries until he is ready to be re-homed. Dusty's adoption fee is $350 to help cover his expenses of castration, chiro, farrier, feed, ect. He should be ready to go home on February 23rd. Delivery may be available for traveling expenses, depending on location. Updated 2/6/09: From what I have found out, the foal was stepped on at birth, causing his injury, and it has improved greatly with corrective trimming. He has been thru 3 owners to date. His dam was primarily of Thoroughbred lineage, and we are still researching about his sire. He has had loung work, along with being saddled and lots of time with children messing with him.
