2D/3D Barrel Horse
Homeboy was lightly raced. He started only 8 times in his two year career at the track. He retired completely sound. He has clean, straight legs and no injuries. He has been very successful in his second career as a barrel horse. He is very responsive and light in the face. He moves off leg pressure: leg yields, side passes, counter-bend circles, rollbacks, and spins. He has a big stop. I've done a little team penning and team sorting on him so he has been around cows. I've done some bareback and bridleless work with him and I have even used him as a lesson horse for an 8 year old girl. He is traffic safe and has been ridden extensively on trails both out in a group and by himself. He has been ridden into town and tied to a hitching post outside of a restaurant while my friend and I got lunch.
He has competed at barrel races in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, and Kentucky. He's placed in the 2D at large open events. Runs to the left barrel first. I've started him on the pole pattern, but haven't competed in pole bending yet at an event.
Homeboy ties, clips, bathes, loads, stands for vet an farrier. He is UTD on coggins, shots, and deworming. His only vice is that he is a cribber which is a common bad habit among track horses.
My reason for selling him is that I cannot afford to go to college in the fall and compete on a regular basis. I hate to see this athletic horse go to waste. He deserves to be hauling to barrel races and doing what he loves. I will continue competing with him throughout the summer until he is sold.
