Serenity Hanoverians which is located in Brinston Ontario Canada, is pleased to offer for sale our upcoming Harvard / Laura foal which is due around May 5, 2014. Althought the ad says filly (as you had to pick one) the foal is in - utero so we are not able to say yet if it will be a filly or a colt however, our mare has had many more fillies than colts, so we went with that.
Harvard, stands 16.3 H.H. and is dark brown-black, with four white socks and a connecting star and stripe. He was bred by Heinrich Laymeyer in Germany. At his performance test in 1999, he scored a perfect 10 for temperament and 9's for character, willingness and ability to work, constitution and rideability.
He began his sport career as Vice-Champion of the 2000 Oldenburg Main Premium. Following his successful placements in the Bundeschampionate finals as a four and five Year Old Stallion with scores up to 8.2, Harvard began his breeding career at the renowned Hengsthaltung Kathmann in Germany. While there, he sired numerous “true to type” Elite auction foals, top quality approval candidates, State Premium Mares and three licensed sons.
Harvard was imported to Canada in December of 2004 and his sport career flourished in North America under the guidance of FEI dressage rider Annaliese Farber. Together they climbed the levels with consistent high scores and numerous class wins as the exceptional tempered stallion capably balanced a career in FEI sport and the breeding shed.
In his first year of competing at Prix St. George and Intermediare I, Harvard became the Advanced Provincial Dressage Champion on Ontario and culminated his season at Dressage in Devon placing 8th in the CDI PSG out of a field of 48. With these fantastic results under saddle Harvard was Long-Listed for the Canadian Dressage Team.
With success not only limited to the dressage ring, Harvard has demonstrated natural ability over fences and has produced many high-quality offspring for the hunter ring. Harvard was also awarded the Champion Line Horse Stallion at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair for his conformation and type. By 2007 Harvard had already climbed the USEF Leading Sires Rankings for Dressage Breeding claiming the 8th spot!
Harvard has produced multiple Licensed sons, numerous State Premium Mares, Elite Auction Foals, a Bundeschampion, a finalist at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, successful International Advanced Dressage competitors, high scoring Oldenburg mares, in 2008 he dam-sired the Champion Filly of Germany, Foals of Distinction, Top Hanoverian Foals and Premium Foals.
Harvard’s offspring are stamped with his elegant head and convey his kind, sensible disposition. Harvard is a very modern type and sire of talented dressage as well as hunter progeny. He passes his wonderful temperament on to his offspring.
Laura is a modern, soft-eyed, brown/black German Imported Main Stud Book Hanoverian mare. Laura is 16.1 H.H., sired by Longchamp out of a Maurice /Wenzel I /Absatz mother. She has been performance tested, receiving 8 on character, temperament, trot, walk and rideability, for an overall score of 7.29. Laura was selected for the European Foal Championships as a youngster and is a very graceful and elegant mare. At the 2003 VhW foal inspections Laura was cited by the jury as “the modern Hanoverian type… with ground covering gaits, good activity behind, and very good frame and carriage.”
We are pleased to say that Laura is the heart and soul of our farm. She has produced many top foals for us over the years with a variety of stallions. Her 2006 colt Bergren, sired by Bergamon received the award for Champion Colt at his site Inspection. In 2008 Laura’s De Niro Filly Denchampira “AKA” Diva was awarded Champion Filly at her site Inspection and in 2009, another Laura / De Niro breeding resulted in our Detyana, receiving the award for Top Filly and Top Foal Overall. This foal we kept, and are pleased to say that when we presented her this past September at the Hanoverian Inspection as a four year old, she had a good show in all three parts of Her Mare Performance Test so that she finished with an overall score of 7.75 taking first place with the top score and was awarded the title of Premium Mare Candidate! (formerly known as Elite Mare Candidate). She also won the Hanoverian Mare Show.
All of Laura’s foals have been called back in the top five at all the site inspections we have attended so far. She is truly a wonderful producer passing on elegance, movement, lovely correct conformation and fantasitc minds. She is also a fantastic mother.
