Rinaldo is a 2007 andalusian stallion, IALHA reg. # 10943(s). He also has his lifetime registration with the USEF and USHJA (reg. #4975949). Rinaldo is also microchipped. He has been kept up-to-date on his chiropractic and dental maintenance. His equine dentist has remarked on the near-perfect alignment of Rinaldos teeth and needs minimal upkeep. This horse is extremely healthy, solid, and 100% sound.

BLOODLINES

Rinaldo is the most beautiful mahogany bay with dramatic black highlights over his withers and croup. His DNA is EeAa. This stallion is the embodiment of his amazing bloodlines.

Rinaldos sire, Diego MC, is three quarters Military blood and is from a long line of champions with his grandsire being a National Champion Stallion. His dam line contains mares from Francisco Lazo Dias in Spain and his sire line goes back to Maluso and also Eduardo Miura Fernandez bred horses. All well known for their functionality and elastic movements. Diego has a successful show career of his own.

Rinaldos dam, Costosa, is an own daughter of the Olympic dressage Andalusian Aureolo VII of Spain. This mare has such perfect movement it's stunning to watch. All the elevation and lift of a correct Spanish horse yet with extension and suspension that will make your jaw drop. Costosa has an extensive and successful show career of her own. Details of both parents of Rinaldo can be seen at www.tintagelandalusians.com (courtesy of Sarah Hollis).

CONFORMATION

Rinaldo stands just shy of 15.1 hands, and is superbly balanced. His conformation is exceptional. His hindquarters are massive, with large, strong hocks and substantial canon bones. Rinaldo naturally engages his hindquarters, due to the great angles in his hips and shoulders. He is broad and square, with straight legs at each corner. My farrier is always pointing out to his apprentices how ideally-shaped Rinaldos hooves are, and how large his frogs are. His exceptional frogs give Rinaldo efficient blood circulation, and after a workout, he recovers very quickly. Always ready to go, Rinaldo is an amazing combination of strength, beauty, stamina, and balance.

TRAINING

Rinaldo has been going under saddle for the past two years. The first year was spent developing his strength and balance through lateral work and basic dressage. He has shown a special interest in reining, jumping, and cow work. His second year of training has focused on the reining maneuvers. His circles are nothing short of beautiful and very consistent. His lead changes are effortless. His spins are correct and cadenced, and starting to add speed. He likes to stop, and he really loves the rollbacks. Rinaldos rollbacks have grace yet power to them, and he never charges out of them, always waiting for instruction from his rider. Rinaldo is a highly confident, athletic and agile horse, but easily ridden by a confident person. Rinaldo has been jumped on occasion for cross-training purposes, and thoroughly enjoys it, showing scope and commitment. He has also been introduced to a mechanical cow, and is very interested and shows promise of becoming a real cow horse. Rinaldo and his get are going to revolutionize the western performance industry, and his offspring will be the ones to beat. He verily floats underneath you, his lope is nothing short of magical, and every single person who has had the privilege of riding this amazing horse has fallen in absolute love with him after the very first ride.

PERSONALITY

Rinaldo is a highly intelligent and opinionated horse who is very socially active. He is grateful for his stall toys, and enjoys standing on his hind legs to visit with his neighbor, an ancient warmblood gelding. Rinaldo is precocious, and I do not recommend him for a timid or amateur horse enthusiast. He must go to a home where a professional trainer will be in the picture for assistance and education. Rinaldo is a happy, bubbly butterfly of a horse who does not have a mean bone in his body, but his friendliness does cause him to be a handful at times, and he requires focus and patience from his handler. He has become the darling of Meredith Manor, and many of the students have enjoyed working with him and some have had the privilege of riding him. The commonality among everyone who has worked with Rinaldo is the fact that they all simply fall in love with him. He is just that special and rare.
