It is with a heavy heart that I must give up my friesian mare. Family situation has changed and I now travel for long periods of time. It breaks my heart that I cannot give her the time and attention that she has always had, she is an only horse and I don’t like her sitting all day without interaction when I’m away, although she seems happy being a pasture pet.
Loraine (Lori) is a gorgeous, 16.2 Baroque mare, heavy boned and wide body, with a small white star.
She loves people, other animals, especially “her” barn cat. She becomes very attached to her “person” and she is very playful. She loves to roll in the water or mud puddles as you can see in her "muddy" photo. She gets along with other horses (she can be dominant).
She will stand without cross ties for farrier, vet, grooming and easily loads onto a trailer. She will walk along with me without being on a lead line
Lori has a long mane that is kept trimmed and an exceptionally thick tail that is also trimmed to be up off the ground.
Lori is barefoot and has been ridden in a bitless bridle for the past 6+ years. She is my pleasure/trail horse. She was shown several years ago at a friesian show, by her then trainer, and did very well. She is good on trails, but can spook from time to time and should have an intermediate/confident rider. She has a wonderful trot, slow and easy or big and fast, and a smooth canter.
Lori is out of Laes 278, who comes from the Age 168 line. She had an Anton 343 colt in 2008, but I have chosen not to breed her again. She is an excellent mother and I’m sure she would produce more gorgeous babies if bred again. Her inbreeding coefficient is 0%
