1983 2 horse gooseneck with small LQ
For Sale: 1983 King 2 horse, straight load, gooseneck trailer with a small living quarters and mid, under manger tack storage space. Electric hookup, AC and lights. Hay rack on the roof, with ladder to access it. Awning on passenger side. 17' long (not including nose).
The living quarters space is very nice, clean and in good condition. 8'x 5'2" overall floor space. 5'2"x 4'7" open floor space. 6'3" finished interior height, 5'6" door opening. Carpeting on the floor and the deck is clean and like new. There is a 4' laminate counter top with a small, pump handle sink and 3 burner propane stove. The cabinet has 4 drawers and a single, center cabinet. A water tank would go in this cabinet (it does not have one now). A two door upper cabinet is mounted above this. There is a nice, collapsible, wooden table that measures 30"x 20". Below the deck/bed there is a great lift top bench that triples as a seat, storage space and a step up to the bed. The bench/chest has two compartments, each measuring: 30"W x 18"D x 15.5"H internally. The mattress measures 60"x 74" and fills nearly the entire deck space. There is 33.5" of height from the deck to the ceiling. The living quarters is equipped with one 110v fluorescent light and 3 battery operated lights. There are two small fans, four sliding windows (with blinds for privacy) and a central fan/AC for plenty of climate control and ventilation. The AC unit works and is made by Coleman, so you might be able to get replacement parts as needed. It has 4 settings (low fan, high fan, low AC, high AC) and a warmer-cooler temperature switch. There are three, 2-plug outlets inside the trailer and one 2-plug weather proof plug on the outside. There is a standard 3 prong plug on the outside for hooking up to 110v service (standard house outlet). This runs the main light and the AC. There is also a weather proof battery case for a 12v battery (car/marine battery) under the nose of the trailer. The trailer also has a roll up awning on the passenger side of the trailer. The door has a keyed lock.
The horse space is solid, safe and functional. The floor measures 6'5"L x 5'3"W. From nose to tail, it is 9'4" and has a 6'7" interior height. Each stall is 30" wide, padded. The wood floor is in good condition and it has rubber mats. The back doors are in two sections, top and bottom. The upper doors come off for summer use if you want. The center divider comes out, but there is still a center column at the back for latching the doors (cannot load an ATV in it). Both sides and the fronts of each stall is padded, as are the insides of the back doors and the insides of the escape doors. Pads are not torn at all. Built in mangers are great for feeding hay/grain without needing to mess with hay nets and buckets. They measure 32.5" square and have a 4" lip at the horses' chest to prevent spilling feed on the floor. There are tie loops at the front of the mangers. Solid metal divider between mangers prevents horses from stealing the other's feed or biting each other. Both sides have 3/4 height (human) escape doors to help load horses that need to be led into the trailer. Manger doors swing out for (un)tying, feeding and allowing the animal to look out. Sliding windows on each manger door and each side (4 total in horse area, some glass is missing). Functional pop up ceiling vents above each manger (2 total) provide great air circulation as needed and can be accessed via manger doors when animals are in the trailer. There are two exterior tie loops. I rode a few miles in the horse area to see what it was like (paved and dirt road). The ride was smooth, minimal noise from gravel hitting the under side and those pop up vents work great!
The tack storage is under the manger and measures 5'5" across, 35" wide and 36" high. There is a 43" long slide out saddle rack on the passenger side. It will fit one western saddle or two English saddles or two pack saddles. You may be able to stack two western saddles, but won't fit end to end. There are 8 hooks for hanging halters, bridles, etc.. The passenger side door has a 4"x 4" x 24" pocket for storing bottles, brushes, etc.. The driver's side under manger door reveals the propane tank hookup. Plenty of space for a muck bucket, hay, ramp jack or whatever you need when the propane is not there, or if you have a small tank. Both sides have keyed locks.
Overall the trailer is in sound condition, pulls straight, lights work, good tires with good tread on them (spare tire is functional, but not as good as the other 4). The brakes do not engage, but this is likely a wiring incompatibility with my truck. 5,600# empty. Standard size goose neck hitch, six pin plug and safety chains. Clear Colorado title in my name.
Asking $3500 OBO
