1940's Vintage Western Saddle
This saddle belonged to my Grandfather, it is a two tone (Cream seat and the rest is a light Sienna) very detailed Western Saddle, made by D & M Saddlery in Long Beach, CA. The craftsman was O.H. Hill, he actually began making saddles in Texas and then relocated to Long Beach.
My Grandparents belonged to the Sheriff's Posse in the 1940's in Lawndale, CA, the saddle was used during this time, which included their participation in the 1949 Rose Parade. That particular Rose Parade also celebrated California's Bicentennial.
My Grandparents always had horses and the saddle was used up until his death in December of 1998.
I have pictures of my Grandparents on their horses in Sherriff's Posse uniforms that I would be glad to make copies of and give to the buyer.
The saddle needs some TLC and the cinch straps need to be replaced.
