For all of you saddle collectors or re-enactment folks, or if your just looking for a saddle that will get you noticed, do I have the saddle for you !! This is a 1926 Bona Allen A fork High back saddle. It is the most beuatifull saddle from this era I have ever seen. It has a 14" seat, and the tree and horn are as solid as a rock, it is ready to ride in. The leather is beautifull with no cracking, and the tooling is great. It is 95% original. I had new fleece put on, and new hobble straps. even the stirrups are original. it has 18 leather tie straos, and a leather cinch strap. The rivets on the saddle have the initials B.A ( Bona Allen ) and on the front of the seat it is embossed in the leather the J.C Higgins logo. I have personally conditioned tis saddle 12 times with Black Rock conditioner, ( which in my opinion is the best on the market ) If you were ever looking to own a part of history, this saddle is for you. I bought it at a Texas cowboy antique sale, and I was told it was kept in one family and passed down. I can't verefy that, but it would account for the condition the saddle is in. I am asking $850.00 for this great saddle, but would consider trading for a high end newer western saddle.
