16.1hh Appaloosa Sport Horse Dressage Stallion

Offered at stud - "Woody" is a friendly, affectionate and quiet stallion with a leggy modern type, a well muscled hind end, good saddle position, a strong topline and loin connection on a short back. Demonstrates uphill movement with the reach, impulsion, and suspension expected from competitive sport horses. We ride him dressage but with his talent over fences and willing personality we would expect him to excel in jumping and combined training/eventing as well. Sticked at a true 16.1hh (barefoot). Head is very attractive, slightly dished and takes a cob size bridle. Demonstrates remarkable gentlemanlike manners both on the ground and under saddle even in the close proximity of mares. Was shown lightly at Training Level in USDF Region 2 Summer 2010. He is in professional training, schooling First Level (with some Second Level movements) and will resume competition. Woody's first foals (shown here) are consistently friendly, curious, athletic, and willing to learn...great temperments for amateurs and children. He puts nice straight legs on his babies as well as longer legs, a stronger hind end and a more attractive head. Thus far, he has reliably thrown his share of the Appaloosa color - when bred to homozygous mares we have had homozygous foals (snow caps and few spots). He has also had a leopard colt out of a leopard mare. Woody is an especially excellent outcross for your mares with Chocklate Confetti or Waps Spot 2 bloodlines for ApHC registered offspring. Also registered with the Appaloosa Sport Horse Association (ApSHA) and available for cross-breeding. Stud fee ($500+$250 booking fee). Fresh cooled & frozen available. Credit cards accepted.
