*SOLD* Gorgeous and Athletic American Warmblood: Dressage Prospect and Trail Horse!
Thanks to the many people that inquired about Max but he has gone to his wonderful new home!
I am looking for a wonderful home for an exceptionally lovely and naturally talented gelding. Every once in a while you come across a horse that just really has that certain something special and Max has that something and more. He is not only a total hunk to look at; he is also a gorgeous mover; fluid, athletic, intelligent, with a natural headset, and great balance.
Max is also the type of horse you can show in dressage one day, take out on the trails the next and then go out and have fun at a costumed play day. He's trained in English and Western. Max has the sweetest and most delightful personality, a heart of gold and the patience of a saint. Nothing rattles him. He has great conformation and a beautiful compact, balanced body with plenty of bone for a long and healthy riding future. Max is a Belgian cross: American Warmblood. Max embodies the typical American Warmblood type with a great build and a gentle and willing disposition. He is very willing and responsive to rider's cues. He is truly a joy and a pleasure to ride and to have in your life.
Max floats around the pasture showing off his beautiful extended trot and carries himself with pride. He has what it takes to be an excellent dressage or show horse. Max is also a wonderful, calm and sane trail horse. He's not a dead head but he is also not at all a 'hot' or spooky horse. He is stocky enough to carry a heavier rider all over the trails or in the ring. He would also be a fabulous play day horse as well. If you have always wanted to show as well as ride for fun, this guy is amazing, he really adores spending time with his person and when he gives you his heart you've got a friend for life..
I have put months of consistent training in English getting him supple, conditioned, responsive, extended, balanced, improving forward impulsion, lift, controlling the two halves of his body separately, and much more. He's ready to be finished by a rider with dressage experience if you choose to go in that direction. He's just waiting for an owner or trainer who can really bring out his full potential in the ring.
Max rides English, Western and bareback. He will ride in a snaffle, curb, bit-less bridle or plain halter and listens great in all of them. He knows both direct reining and basic neck reining. Max does not buck, rear, bolt, kick, bite etc. He has had extensive ground work and desensitizing training, has excellent ground manners, lunges, bathes, ties, car safe, loads and leads easily and is great about all four feet. Once Max has bonded with you he will give you his heart and do anything you ask of him and much more.
Max also rides out alone with no complaints and will go through or over whatever you point him at. He is not at all spooky. He is very responsive to leg and seat cues. I often ride him bareback in just the halter and lead rope and feel very comfortable and safe at a walk, trot or canter.
Max has been sound and healthy since I have had him. He currently does very well barefoot and has never had any issues with soundness. Max is a very easy keeper. He is a minimal Sabino with tall white rear socks, light roaning and is super flashy when shed out.
While an experienced beginner can ride him, Max is athletic, intelligent and sensitive to cues; so he may do better with an intermediate or experienced rider or a beginner who has had some quality lessons. While he has been ridden by kids in the past I am not advertising him as a child's horse as again, he is very responsive to cues- a younger teen with some experience would be fine. If you are looking for a quality horse and a wonderful companion who will bond deeply as well as be an excellent riding partner to show and to make some fabulous memories with I don't think you could do much better than Max.
Max is a very special horse who has really stolen my heart and he will only go to an approved, loving home that I think is a good match. I've put a lot of time and training into him and he's come a long way, but I've taken him about as far as I can.
I will be honest with you so please be honest with me about your riding abilities and what you're looking for. Please no trade offers, I am a senior in college and my time between horses and school is limited. Max does not require a harsh, heavy hand. He is sensitive, intuitive and tries hard to please and does great with positive gentle methods. He is a horse that really thrives on a true partnership with his human and will hang out with you for hours just enjoying being together. I do reserve the right to refuse a sale I do not feel is a good match for Max or for you.
