*HighSchool/College Rodeo/Westernaires LOOK*
Hello! I am reluctantly posting this ad in efforts to find the IDEAL, LOVING home for my bay Appendix gelding. Will is a loving, sweet barrel horse full of spunk and full of go.
My horses are like my kids--so this sale isn't to make a buck; this is to do what's best for my horse. My circumstances have changed greatly (career and life stuff) over the past year and I am unable to take this amazing horse to his full potential. When I brought Will home, I had every intention of running barrels with him, but have only had him for two summers now, and have just not yet had the time or opportunity. He is too good of a horse, and has way too much potential to wait for me any longer. He would be ideal for a confident young lady who is in high school or college rodeo and ready to move to a "higher level" horse, or a Westernaire who is in red division.
Will has a lot of energy--he's out of Easy Jet Two and an aristocrat TB mare, (he's not your average horse--he's bred for and cut out for speed). I am CERTAIN that this horse can go PRO with the right rider to take him there. Unfortunately, Will's breeder did not paper him. Will has good manners, but does need an outlet for his energy otherwise he gets bored. He does need someone to spend more time with him---more time than I am able to dedicate to him. Ideally, Will's new home will have plenty of space so he can be turned out and stretch his legs. Speaking of legs--one of the best things about Will is he's SOUND. This is because he wasn't "run into the ground" as a youngster on barrels. Will didn't start to learn the barrel pattern until he was six years old and he's been encouraged by his trainers to do other things so as to keep him SOUND. In other words this horse hasn't been running his whole life, nor is he "hot at the gate". On the contrary--due to Will's life circumstances he hasn't had the opportunity to really prove himself yet....a diamond in the rough if you will.
Will has been introduced to rodeo drill team, and took well to it. He has been on lots of trail rides with me as well. He's flag trained. Bathes, loads, ties, stands for farrier. He needs to be ridden regularly, as most high energy horses do. Videos of Will will be posted soon.
Noteworthy things about Will:
*Affectionate and friendly
*Willing to please and eager to learn
*Stands, clips, loads, ties, and bathes
*3 years professional barrel training from Shelly Radford
*2 years miscellaneous exposure (trails, parades, drill team)
*Out of Easy Jet Two
*A diamond in the rough who just hasn't yet been give the opportunity to shine in the world of barrel racing
*100% sound and has done fine barefoot (shoes optional)
*Will's nickname is "giraffe" due to his height and long neck--so he has special giraffe tack to go with him
*Did I mention he's BEAUTIFUL?! Tall solid bay with no markings.
Lease to Own:
I would prefer to do a lease to own arrangement, so that I can make certain that Will is going to the perfect home. However, sometimes with horses a rider will have an instant bond, and if I meet that potential special someone for Will, I would be willing to consider an immediate sale. I remember what it was like when I was trying to find my dream horse, and I can appreciate that as "mom and dad" are looking to help their daughter find the perfect horse, so I am negotiable on price and will consider all reasonable offers. (Will was $4000 when I purchased him just after he finished "school" with renowned trainer Shelly)
If you are looking to "upgrade" to a faster horse to move to the next level of your barrel career, or if you're just seeking a new challenge, and have a horse that you'd like to trade, let's talk about it. I am able to trade Will for a laid back, easy keeper for my husband. My husband just got into horses a couple years back and we'd like to find a horse for trails and such for him and myself.
Please respond to post or call with questions! Thank you.
